Project Overview: ClinixFlow – n8n HL7/FHIR Lab Triage, Critical Pager & Patient WhatsApp Engine
ClinixFlow is a clinical operations and patient communication orchestrator built on self-hosted n8n for multi-branch outpatient clinics and diagnostic laboratories.
The Business Challenge & Technical Requirements
Diagnostic analyzers output raw HL7 messages that required manual transcription into clinic EMRs, while reception desks spent hours messaging patients their PDF lab reports, prescription instructions, and post-procedure follow-up dates.

Technical Architecture & Full-Stack Implementation
Cynsera deployed an isolated on-premise n8n instance that ingests HL7 `ORU^R01` messages, transforms them into structured FHIR JSON resources, evaluates reference ranges via conditional IF/Switch nodes, pages the attending physician on Telegram/Slack if a critical panic value is detected, and dispatches password-protected PDF reports and dosage reminders to the patient via WhatsApp.
Key Outcomes & Measurable Impact
Eliminated manual lab transcription errors, cut patient report delivery time by 92%, and achieved zero missed critical biomarker alerts.
